50 Years Of Tewkesbury Art Society (TAS)

JUNE 4TH 2015

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating the Tewkesbury Art Society's Golden Anniversary! The sub committee had organised a luncheon with an amazing assortment of first and second courses. Members and past members were welcomed with a glass of Bucks Fizz and other drinks were available throughout the afternoon.

A last-minute panic ensued when it was discovered that the large dinner plates (counted the week before) were missing. Disaster was averted when Janet Green raced up to the Canterbury Inn and borrowed 60 plates from the landlady, Tracy, who saved the day.

After lunch Janet gave a talk on "Art in Tewkesbury through the ages".

One of the past members (now rejoined) brought photographs and other memorabilia from past events which people enjoyed seeing, reminiscing about old times.

The beautiful cake celebrating 50 years of TAS was cut by Gill Shelley, a past chairman of 14 years service, and Betty Ellis the present chairman.

This was a special day in the history of Tewkesbury Art Society.
